Voices

Sitting outside my front porch I think of you
of times we had together were so far and few
The day you left and got on that plane
I knew it was the last time Id see your face

As I turned around to go back home alone
I heard a voice whisper I love you forever more
The tears began to roll down my face
As I new as you left for war it was my fate

As I sat on my porch a car drove up and stopped
Two men stepped out and closed their doors
They walked slowey up to wear I sat
I looked up at them and said I know what your here for

silence surrounded me and they handed me the letter
my hands trembled as I took it from their hands
they said they were sorry as they turned around
The letter slipped and dropped to the ground

Oh why did you leave me so long ago
I wanted you here with me
The house we built the kids we have
What happened to our plans

oh baby why did you go
why did you leave me so
come back to me
come back to me
I need you so much more

As I turned around to go back in side
I heard a voice whisper I will love you forever
The tears began to roll down my face
As I new as you left for war it was my fate
